Powering your energy with a new flavour...Do you store a lot of energy from all the nutritious food you eat? When do you feel the real benefit of eating? At times I feel like it’s when I am eating because of the great flavours but I am sure it is when I need the energy for simply keeping myself breathing and my heart pumping healthily. All of this production of energy is there to be ready for the daily tasks and of course doing fun things in life like cardio drumming which can give us a better healthy heart engine to get us to where we are going.
Small steps can be part of a daily routine or rhythmWe tasked ourselves to fill 60 minutes with basic rhythm thinking and high intensity interval training to improve physical and mental health for individuals and teams. Our main goal was to find fun ways to improve co-ordination, balance, strength, creativity and teamwork in the community. We came up with some stretches, warm ups, rhythms and exercises that are fun and practical and bundled it all into our Cardio Drumming classes where you can learn new rhythms to fun moves like “Silly Lily”, “Be Hip”, “Flamingo Bingo” or the “Viking Striking” plus many more. All moves have a high, medium or low intensity option so can be flexible for your abilities and allows you to develop skills, strength and stamina in bite size chunks. Get your feet to feel the stress, so the rhythm is not a messOnce we recognise how our body wants to move we can find new rhythms and then life can feel different. We start to notice changes and do things differently. How often have you switched on a light or picked up a book with your non-dominant hand? You are probably looking at these words with both eyes as co-ordination is needed and this can lead to understanding a balance between the left side and right side of the body.
